Donate now to help Aboriginal families in crisis create a safe home for their children
Will you please donate before June 30 to ensure vulnerable Aboriginal families like Mara's don't suffer this winter?
- $25 could provide $150 worth of food to an Aboriginal family in crisis this winter.
- $50 could help a mum like Mara pay her bills, so she can keep the lights and heating on for her children.
- $100 could help pay for furniture, so a woman fleeing violence can create a new home for her family.
Your kind gift of $2 or over is tax deductible.
To escape family violence, Mara had to leave with her kids in secret with nothing but a few documents and the clothes on their backs.
She showed incredible strength and love for her kids to get them to a safe place, but faced severe hardship when she arrived to her short-term rental with no furniture and a maxed-out credit card.
Eventually, she turned to VACCA for help and we were able to set her up with beds and warm doona's for the kids, a fridge so she wouldn't have to rely on take-away, and help with bills to get ahead.
Sadly, we know many more families will face crises like Mara this winter, with soaring power and petrol prices - on top of everything else. Many more mums will need our support.
Please give today to ensure we can be there for the vulnerable Aboriginal families who need our help this winter.
Thank you for helping support mums like Mara and sending them a message that their issues matter and that there are people like you who care.
